Project gun part 1: Diemaco C8CQB
Over the last few months I’ve been trying to decide on a new AEG for outdoor games. I’ve always been a bit of an M4 fan, my first AEG was a Classic Army M15A4 Carbine. It was a really nice heavy weight gun, but I always struggled with the length when moving through buildings, so I replaced it with a Marui M4 PMC which works brilliantly and has an interesting look. When I was looking for a new rifle I wanted some a little unique, I considered going for an AK47s and looked at the Magpul Masada. But in the back of my mind, I wanted another M4.
When talking to a friend he suggested that if I wanted something a little different I should take a look at the Diemaco Canada. As soon as I started looking into it I knew I wanted one. A bit of googling suggested that it’s currently in use by UK special forces. That alone sold it to me as I admire the UKSF.
Unfortunately, the “C8” isn’t largely available as an airsoft rifle, a couple of manufacturers do make them, but they are always sold as M4s so I didn’t want to risk buying one to find the trades had changed. Thankfully, Fire Support sell a Guarder C8 body, so that was it I decided that a project gun was the way to go.
I researched the C8 a little more to find out what key differences the are between it and the M4. Here’s another problem the barrel on the C8 balloons slightly at the end, because of this I decided to go for the CQB version, the main differences being a shorter barrel and a different flash hider.
So there we are, my next rifle will be a Diemaco C8CQB. Part 2, time to go shopping.
