Project gun part 2: Externals

Over the last couple of months I’ve been collecting up all the parts to build my Diemaco C8CQB. I’ve now got most of the external parts and am just needing to find a donor gun to supply the gearbox, motor, stock & misc metal parts & pins.

The first thing I ordered for the project was the Guarder C8 Metal body set, it looks pretty neat. I also ordered a Guarder Vortex flash hider, King Arms CQB-R RAS front end, Magpul Miad pistol grip (I have shovel hands so the adjustability is nice), Magpul sling mount & a cantilever scope mount for my Aimpoint replica. After assembling the externals I decided that it’s going to look more “ally” running my Knights style suppressor.

As for a donor gun, originally I was looking at the Marui M733, but recently I’ve heard a lot of great things about the very well priced G&G Combat Machines. So to save £100 I’m going to pick up one of those, as they have a 8mm bearing gearbox and a crane stock. For the moment I’ll probably use the hop unit that came with the body, and the barrel from the Combat Machine, with a view to swap it out for a MadBull hop & barrel combo.

For now here’s how it’s looking…
